You can definitely have hyperT symptoms before your TSH drops too low. Also, you need to have your Free T4 and Free T3 checked as these may be out of range. I would also request to have TSI checked as well. This is the antibody found in Graves disease (hyperthyroidism). Please see an endo for this, as many pcp's order the wrong thyroid labs (i.e. total t3/t4 instead of free t3/t4 and many don't even know what TSI is).

i have thyroid issues too,, hashimoto's disease, it causes hypothyroidism. when i got sick , i got really tired, loo of interest in things, i thought i was depressed and was actually going to go to a psychiatrist, my hair started fallin gout, in like CLUMPS, and i was constipated and ALWAYS cold,,, me TSH was 95.
wheni first went they did an ultrasound, it doesnt hurt, just uncomfortable, they do it to look for nodules,,they stick out a little under where your adams apple would me==be,, anyway, if they find nodules, then they have to do a biopsy (to make sure its not cancer) even if it is, they say thyroid cancer has a high success rate,,they just make you take a pill, kills off ur thyroid, and then u regulate it with med.s', but most biopsy's are benign.
oh, not to scare you, but the biopsy hurts a little bit and they dont give you pain medication or even numb the needles so please make sure to take some motrin of vicodin or something before your appointment (u will be sore the next day but it is important so do it)
i am hyp, but it sounds you like you might be the opposite, hyper, do u have heart palpitations?
i think with hyper people they do the whole swallow the pill to kill it off and make you keep it regulated with med.'s thing.
wither way, good luck, and do what the dr.'s says, the medication makes me feel ALOT better :)

The latest range for TSH is actually 0.3 to 3.0 (as accepted by the AACE, American Assoc. of Clinical Endocrinologists), so that sounds good.

But "bad" tests do happen. Is your body temperature low? This has been a pretty reliable indicator for me that I nee to up my dose.

Oh, when you say "anxiety", "fatigue", "can't sleep", I think of adrenals. You can ask your Dr. for an adrenal profile. I found mine were screwed up in addition to thyroid mayhem.
