Some of your hair fell out about 2 years ago because of a perm? I hope you went back to that salon and got some kind of compensation.

I am not sure what I can suggest other than wear a wig until it is at a length that you can get a style to grow into until it’s wear you like it. Don’t use any chemicals in your hair or use any heating tools. You should also find another salon to have treatments done to your hair. This would help your scalp. It would not make your hair grow faster but it would be healthier. Good luck.

Our hair just breaks off so easily! I suggest that you start taking a multivitamin and Biotin (5000mg) per day. I do both of these and I have seen amazing results with my hair growth. I also suggest that you start using products made by organics such as Hair Fertilizer and Hair Mayonnaise. The Hair Fertilizer is a daily balm that you put on different spots that has the hair loss and the Hair Mayonnaise is a deep conditioner, both of them combined will help your hair to regain its health as well as the supplements. I hope this helps.

You know, this is one of two reasons I went natural. 1) that damn perm kept torturing…I mean, burning, my scalp, and 2) my hair kept breaking off and I was loosing length because of it.

It might be time to leave the perms alone. Two years is enough time for you to grow your hair back, if you can retain the length by keeping it from breaking off. If you’re still unable to retain length then you might have better success without the chemicals. I went natural and my hair stopped breaking off and it’s stronger and thicker than it used to be – the perms thinned out my hair over time. There are many myths about natural hair and it all comes back to being “nappy” like nappy is a bad thing. By definition, nappy means tightly curled or coily hair. You’ve seen natural celebs like Jill Scott and Angie Stone, and Chilli, and Macy Gray. Everyone’s hair is not the same and if you know how to take care of natural hair then you’ll experience its full potential. It’s funny, because my whole family (mom, dad, siblings, and my parents siblings) has looser curl patterns, but many of my siblings believe the myths about natural hair (that it can’t be curly although “nappy” dictates that it’s just that – tightly curled) and they think my naturally curly hair is fake, lol. But, it is what it is.

You can also let your hair grow out and get a texturizer, if you don’t want to go completely natural. A texturizer is a low grade perm, but instead of straightening the hair, it will loosen your natural curl pattern, so you’ll still have some form of curl, but not as tight, and you wont be natural, because it’s still a chemical. Then there’s always the jerri curl, it’s outdated, but many people still have them, including one of my sisters. Either way, if you decide to put another chemical in your hair, or go natural, you’ll eventually have to cut off the relaxed ends.

Oh, my reasons for saying that two years is enough time to grow your hair back is because on average hair grows 1/2 inch per month/6 inches per year. So, if you are able to retain your length, then you’ll have 12 more inches of hair in a two year time frame. If you’re not retaining length, then it’s most likely do to your hair breaking off at the ends, because it is growing at the roots – you just have to hold on to that hair.

Here are some websites and forums to get some hair advice. Black’s have the most fragile hair of any race and it easily breaks off, so you have to be careful with how you handle your hair when you style it and be careful with what you put in your hair because you could be Hampering your hair growth, for instance, grease cloggs your pores and hampers growth, so you should use a natural oil, instead.

    Good luck.

    you can do LOTS
Vitamins like Biotin and B complex and lots of protein helps

In the mean time there is shampoo with monoxyl or some thing in it that helps hair get thicker, and then you might want to also try this thing here to stimulate your scalp:
