Hair Restoration Cost
Hair Restoration Costs
by Kenneth L. Meyer
If you are considering restoring your thinning hair with hair restoration, transplants and surgery, obviously the cost will be a large factor!
The cost of hair restoration and hair transplants will vary wildly.
Different surgeons have varying methods and pre-sessions, so the cost may vary greatly.
Some practitioners charge per graft of hair some by per treatment policy.
In fact, just what constitutes a “graft” of hair will vary by practitioner.
For the most part a single “graft” of hair can range from 1-5 hairs.
Hair transplant clinics also vary in expertise as some clinics are capable of using 1000 grafts to replace any where between 1000 and 1500 grafts and yet another will be able to replace between 2000 to 4000 hairs.
Price is Coming Down
In recent years hair restoration costs have become more affordable. Some good news there; not that long ago it wasn’t uncommon for a single hair craft to cost $15!
Even now, hair restoration can be an expensive proposition and can range from $2.50 to $10 per graft and up!
When all is said and done, and depending upon the head and hair area to be covered and restored, the costs could soar to $15-20 thousand dollars. ]
That is high end and depending upon what the patient really needs, can be substantially less.
The real key to lowering the cost of hair restoration surgery is to be realistic as to what one needs, not necessary what one would like; and do your due diligence in finding the proper professionals.
Costs are also predicated on the expectations of the patient since patients may decide to have more extensive transplantation than is actually necessary particularly if there is a certain “perfect” look in mind.
You will find that the most efficient and effective hair transplant clinics do more extensive sessions covering more of the balding area in a shorter amount of time.
The good news is that there has been great progress over the years in the process of hair restoration and hair transplants are much more effective and less traumatizing than in previous years.
While the internet has helped to lower the costs of hair restoration, this has also made hair transplant surgery much more available to the general population.
Most clinics are business meaning you can usually work out some kind of payment arrangement, with many offering their own financing options on site.
While there can be no doubt that hair restoration procedures do work and can be quite satisfying, just like anything else…”let the buyer beware!”
