Does anyone know about chinchillas and there illnesses?

i have a chinchilla recently be put down..and now the same thing is happening to this one..we took the other one to the vet up here and they said oh its ringworm..but ringworm is contagious..and the one that was put down was female and now its happening to my other female..the 3 males are fine..so i know it is not ringworm..but the symptoms are slow eating,loss of hair,mouth area is extra wet..her poops are normal..her feet and hands are normal..please help..i dont wanna loose her too
