For many women who are very aware, hair loss is one thing that will create great stress and worry.

Hair loss does not choose a specific gender or age. It may come during the early phase of one’s life or could also be a little later. But then hair loss on men is more common than it is with women; its is very much a cultural “thing” if you will.

Regardless of why women may become more upset vis-à-vis hair loss it is a reality.

Female hair loss is a big deal. Generally, women treat their hair as their crowning glory.
Scripture even speaks of the fact that hair is a woman’s glory.

What will happen if a woman suffers from hair loss? The hair will obviously lose its radiance and striking effect. And this fact makes women terribly worried. Will it ever grow back? Will my hair be the same again? Is there a treatment for women hair loss?

Women hair loss particularly affects the psychological well-being of women. Some reports indicate that women moving up the corporate ladder quit their jobs or substantially reduce work effort because they discovered that they are getting bald for no apparent reason.

The socialization process of women also gets affected. Women hair loss can prompt them to withdraw from the usual activities which they typically take part in.

The Main Causes of Hair Loss for Women

There are several  factors that cause hair loss; things like skin disorders, recommended drugs and therapies, stress, pregnancy, chemotherapy, hereditary predisposition for hair loss, bacterial infection, radiation, and extreme androgen production.

In most cases, only one of these factors causes the hair loss in women; but, there is also the possibility that these factors are combined and hence bring about a greater effect of hair loss.

As in the case of women hair loss, specialists emphasize that menopause is also another factor to be considered. It is in the menopause  that women experience a decrease in hormonal production so the body goes through many changes.

The Prevention of Women Hair Loss

Can women hair loss be prevented? Specialists have answers to this dilemma. Experts say that a healthy diet is likely to increase the possibility of preventing hair loss in women. There is research indicating that an increase in protein intake may help retard hair loss. s. Do not use unnecessary drugs. Ensure proper hygiene. Do away with hormonal drug therapies. A good exercise regimen will help reduce stress too.

Another effective medium is the use of natural and homeopathic therapy. The use of  therapeutic herbs like  sage which is a good medication for feeble hair,  rosemary which can boost dark hair,  chamomile which is able to promote a healthy growth for the hair, and  burdock root which aids in stopping falling hair.
